Useful Shops to know upon arrival

Keep Warm!

North Face: Great winter clothes, down coats & boots for our Canadian winters. Offered as a brand in many sports stores and with their own shop on Sherbrooke street.

One Stop Department Store!

Winners: A quick solution for seasonal clothing, footwear, coats & Jackets, bedding & towels, small furniture, etc., for the whole family. Many locations in the Montreal area.

Dollarama: Dollarama is for everyone! Buy your general sundries from pot scrubbers and q-tips to office supplies and gift wrap – all in one place and all for a dollar or two. Find these stores all over town and save yourself time and money.

Jean Coutu:

Montreal is not short on restaurants, but if you arrive here with special dietary needs and an unstocked fridge, these may come in handy.

Aux Vivre: Vegetarien & health food.

Crudessence: Raw Live food. (Raw food experience)

Taqueria Mex: Authentic Mexican for all diets. Fresh simple food, cooked as you order behind the counter, with a salsa bar, so you decide if it’s spicy or not. Liquor licence. More than you can eat for about $10. a plate. Great for the family when you haven’t stocked the fridge yet and you’re tired and hungry.

Wine & Liquor

In Quebec you can buy wine and beer in the local corner grocery store until 11:pm (except Sunday), however for superior wines, beers, and liquors we have government run stores called the SAQ. Check their hours on-line as they close earlier than grocery stores.
